I wish you a hundred summers exactly how they are in your reveries
A hundred autumns so quiet and calm you can hear your heart beat
A hundred serene winters and a hundred springs blooming with hope
I wish you the fullest life there can be, that you make of it the utmost
Maybe you’d like to live it with me?
Sometimes I let myself forget a little thing on purpose just so I can hear you say it back because your voice is everything to me
In your stories, you keep saying things like Tuesday and Thursday and Monday
What are those words? I don't understand when that was, I’ve lost track of time
All I really see every day is you, so show me what day with the sparkle in your eyes
And how the crows feet creep gently upon your face and wrinkles adorn your brow
And how much you've grown since then, even though ‘then’ was just now.
Two young souls, lovestruck, circling each other
With the fire of passion in their eyes
The fire of youth.
An uncertain and shy look in their eyes, they don’t quite know what they’re doing.
All they know is that they love each other.
Slightly older, their eyes are filled with warmth and a sparkle of fun,
They know each other well, and they love each other well.
“Can we start a family?”
Older again, now in their middle age,
And the look in their eyes has changed again.
This time, there’s contentment and certainty,
And each is grateful to spend their lives with the other.
Into the dusk of their lives, the two souls, intertwined
Holding hands, spend their years peacefully,
Enjoying each other’s company
Having lived a long and fulfilling life that they can look back upon fondly,
In remembrance, as old age comes to take them into their next life.
WHOA, THAT'S SO WELL WRITTEN
